Azerty Labs was a small hardware lab based in Brest, France, exploring embedded AI inside the constraints of Eurorack synthesizer modules, before generative AI reached the mainstream.
Modules designed in-house:
- Pronaos — USB-MIDI interface with an on-module generative-rhythm layer.
- Gatekeeper — low-noise audio I/O bridge for routing rack signals through off-module inference.
- Beetlejuice — credit-card-sized PSU, designed end-to-end with AI assistance.
Also built: Allen Synthesis's EuroPi (as a target for rhythmic ML models), plus commissioned builds of Clacktronics Speaker and Music Thing Modular Reverb.
